In Japan, there are so many beautiful beaches and picturesque coastlines. But Kotohiki beach (kotohikihama) in Kyotango (town of Amino) knows how to get your attention. The beach sand has a higher quartz content than most beaches in the world that causes it to ‘sing’ when you walk across it. This beach consistently ranks among the lists of Japan’s best beaches. It is over a mile long (nearly 2 km) and features a natural seaside hot spring, some camping, tidal pools, and a pine forest with walking paths. The waters are crystal clear and excellent for swimming, surfing, or staring out at the water at sunset.
